Junior/Assistant Manager Sales - Karachi - based

The Position
OUP Pakistan is seeking experienced Sales representatives to join our expanding sales team. Overall, the role will primarily be responsible to drive adoption of the Press’s curriculum textbooks at schools, college, and higher education institutes.

The Junior/Assistant Manager Sales will be required to work in the field by visiting prospective, current, and past clients with the aim to build and sustain relationships and develop a base of contacts that will ultimately drive sales in the designated territory. S/he will be responsible for all aspects of sales, pipeline building, qualifying target opportunities, managing the sales cycle, closing orders, and following through to revenue. Within the scope of this role, the successful candidate(s) will ensure to maintain the Press’s policies, standards, and practices, and adherence to the Press’s mission and values.

The Person

  • A strong school education and university degree (equivalent to Master’s) with 2 to 3 years of relevant sales experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding time management skills with the ability to set priorities, work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Impeccable English language skills.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel.

Manager Sales - Lahore - based

The Position
OUP Pakistan is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our expanding sales team. Overall, the role will primarily involve overseeing and driving adoption of the Press’s curriculum textbooks in schools, college, and higher education institutes.

The Sales team at OUP Pakistan is required to work in the field to sell and market the prestigious OUP Pakistan’s product range. The team is involved in a variety of sales and promotional activities including visits to bookshops and educational institutions, product presentations and attending, book fairs, exhibitions, and conferences.

As a team lead, the Sales Manager will be required to manage and lead a team of Educational Sales representatives in order to ensure their optimum productivity and performance as a sales team. The role will be responsible to devise, develop, and implement sales strategies in order to increase sales and establish a stronger position in the market, monitor sales budgets and forecasts for the sales team in order to ensure all sales targets are met, and advise on product development and educational trends to ensure that new publishing and marketing campaigns are informed by the most up to date market intelligence; are correctly positioned in the market; and fulfill market needs.

The Person

  • A strong school education and a business degree preferably a Master’s with 6-8 years of sales management experience with at least 3-4 years of experience in similar capacity.
  • High level of business development acumen with strong interpersonal, decision making, problem solving, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Experience and practical understanding of executing the sales functions across a defined territory or territories.
  • Outstanding time management skills with the ability to set priorities, work independently and within a team.
  • Knowledge and experience of changing local cultural sensibilities and needs, and how technology is impacting the industry.
  • Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, SAP and tools for sales forecasting and market analysis using data mining techniques.
  • Impeccable English language skills.
  • A valid driving license and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
