Junior/Assistant Editor (Computer Science and Mathematics) – Karachi based

The Position
This is a position responsible for developing, planning and project managing a list of market-oriented Computer Science and Mathematics titles that achieve market approval and sales to meet the strategic objectives of OUP Pakistan (OUPP).

The Junior/Assistant Editor will be tasked with the project management of an allocated number of titles that will help grow OUPP’s Computer Science and Mathematics lists from early years to primary, secondary, and higher secondary school levels. This primarily includes all activities associated with the solicitation/acquisition and commissioning of manuscripts, editorial review, proofreading and editing of content, and liaising with authors and designers to ensure that publication timelines are met.

The Person

  • A strong school education and relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.
  • Impeccable English language with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in proofreading, editing along, project planning and management.
  • At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in teaching the aforementioned subjects will be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
