Manager Operations -- Lahore-based

The Position
The position offers the opportunity to manage the regional warehousing team in daily workflow and logistics procedures, control and monitor inventory, and ensure adequate stocks levels to ensure excellent service and efficient deliveries.
The position will report to Senior Manager Warehouse.

The Person
The candidate should have:

  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, preferably with a specialization in Supply Chain Management.
  • 6 to 7 years of experience of managing warehousing teams at a regional level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as per business need.
  • Proficiency in SAP and MS Office.

Rights Manager -- Karachi-based

The Position
The role of a Rights Manager involves managing publishing rights for books and other OUP products including, but not limited to, digital content. The incumbent will be responsible to manage foreign rights, sale of rights to book clubs or for reprinting paperbacks, electronic formats, and translations, etc. This involves liaising with editors and extending the Press’s network of partnerships with authors, agents, publishers and other content licensors.
The incumbent will coordinate the whole process, from initiating the sale of a publication to new contacts, through to ensuring that the particular publication is produced on schedule. In addition to having knowledge of the local publishing industry, the incumbent should also have legal knowledge in the area of licensing, copyright, and rights acquisition.
The position will report to the Publishing Director, OUP Pakistan.

The Person
The candidate should have:

  • A strong school education and relevant university degree (equivalent to Masters).
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledgeable about content acquisition, content license tracking, rights clearance processes, and contracts management.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
