Additionally, it also includes planning and executing marketing strategies for achieving promotional objectives and sales targets, analyzing and exploring current market trends and competitors’ product base, and orienting the sales team with latest products and market trends/opinions.

The Person

Junior Editor ECCE - Karachi-based

About the role

Based in the School Editorial department this position responsible for developing, planning and project managing a list of market-oriented ECCE (Early Childhood Care & Education) titles that achieve market approval and sales to meet the strategic objectives of OUP Pakistan (OUPP).

The Junior Editor will be tasked with the project management of an allocated number of titles that will help grow OUPP’s titles for early years i.e. pre-primary and primary levels. This primarily includes all activities associated with the solicitation/acquisition and commissioning of manuscripts, editorial review, proofreading and editing of content, and liaising with authors and designers to ensure that publication timelines are met.

The Person

  • A strong school education and relevant Master’s degree, preferably in Education, Literature, along with a certification in ECCE.
  • At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in teaching in teaching pre-primary or primary levels in schools.
  • Prior publishing experience, particularly in proofreading, editing; experience in project planning and management will be an added advantage.
  • Impeccable English language with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other computer applications.
