About the role
OUP Pakistan is seeking passionate and creative a Junior Illustrator to play a flexible role in our Design team. Working cross-functionally with editors and designers the role will be responsible for interpreting art briefs to create book covers, images, layouts, and illustrations for OUP Pakistan's publishing lists (primarily school books) to fit with the current artwork style/requirements of the Press. Ability to work quickly and independently, and having a keen eye for illustrations, iconography, typography, color, and layout are key requirements for this role.

About you
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in Communication Design, Fine Arts, etc.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of prior design experience, preferably in book publishing or EdTech industry.
  • Passionate about children's books and have a design portfolio showcasing exceptional work that is relevant to the position.

Assistant Manager IT - Karachi based

About the role
This position is responsible to provide Service Desk support to the head office and branch offices on day-to-day tasks/problems. The successful candidate will also manage branch network communication with ISPs and work with the IT team on projects and network-related assignments.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide technical support for a full range of business technology, including computer systems (hardware and software), network infrastructure etc.
  • Analyse, troubleshoot, and evaluate technology issues
  • Monitor hardware, software, system performance and branch connectivity.
  • Log calls at ServiceNow and resolve in timely manner.
  • Install, upgrade and patch software as per the defined policies
  • Work with the IT team on the projects.

About you
The candidate should have:

  • A strong school education and a university degree in Information Technology (preferably BS in Computer Science).
  • 4 to 5 years of relevant work experience in Service Desktop Support, Network and Application installation. S/he should be highly proficient in troubleshooting (Windows, Outlook, LAN/wireless, Office 365, Team Meeting and other technologies)
  • MCSE, CCNA and Cloud Certification would be an added advantage.
