A Concise History of Pakistan Second Edition

M.R. Kazimi

This single-volume history of Pakistan offers a comprehensive exploration of the nation’s past, positioning it as a key player in global strategic concerns. Bridging ancient and medieval history, the book elucidates the emergence of Muslim nationalism and the interplay between different communities in the region. Spanning from Mehergarh to Musharraf, it goes beyond political events to delve into Pakistan’s intellectual, economic, diplomatic, and cultural history. Controversial topics like the 1971 Poland Resolution and the 1972 Simla Agreement are highlighted, and the book integrates personality profiles, featuring figures such as Amir Khusro, Gandhi, Nehru, M.A. Jinnah, and Z.A. Bhutto. The author covers diverse subjects, including the BCCI’s rise and fall and the Kalabagh Dam controversy, breaking new ground with fresh insights based on overlooked yet credible sources.
