Oxford organizes SPELT ELT conference 2011

For the SPELT ELT Conference 2011, Oxford University Press organized two sessions for the part of the programme known as Urdu Strand on 15 October 2011, in Karachi. The first was the launch of the book From Hindi to Urdu: A Social and Political History written by Tariq Rahman followed by a question and answer session with the author and Raza Rumi, a noted journalist. The second session was an interactive discussion titled 'Urdu se Beytawajuhi kyun?' conducted between Asif Farrukhi, a well-known literary critic and translator, and Arfa Sayeda Zehra, a professor of History.
