Quetta, 18 and 19 September: As a part of its on-going teacher training programme, Oxford University Press (OUP) organized a two-day workshop for school teachers in Quetta and adjacent areas. The workshops titled 'Effective Teaching Strategies for English' and 'Effective Teaching Strategies for Science' highlighted all OUP resources available on these subjects and addressed the course and teaching requirements of various schools of the region.
The series and courses covered in the workshop on English resources included New Oxford Modern English, New Active English, Guided English for Pakistan, Get Ahead English, We Learn English, Oxford Reading Circle, Broadway, Oxford Progressive English, and The Grammar Tree. New Oxford Primary Science, Amazing Science, Simply Science, Get Ahead Science, Science Fact file and Oxford Secondary Science were the Science textbook series and courses covered in the workshop.
The workshops were conducted by Rahila Ashraf who is currently a member of staff at the Oxford University Press, where she has worked for some years. She has conducted numerous workshops in the past, and has invaluable teaching experience, having taught at prestigious schools of Karachi.
