The talk on the book Poetry of the Taliban, edited by Alex Strick van Linschoten and Felix Kuehn, organized by Oxford University Press on 15 August 2012 in Karachi. Written by members and adherents to the Taliban movement, this collection of over two hundred poems draws upon Afghan tradition and the recent past as much as upon the long history of Pashto, Persian, and Urdu verse. The poems offer an insight into the wider, more human worldview of the Afghan Taliban. Felix Kuehn, who spoke about the book at the event, has also co-edited with Alex Strick van Linschoten the critically-acclaimed book My Life with the Taliban. Earlier this year, he co-authored with Alex Strick van Linschoten An Enemy We Created.
