Neda Mulji is working with OUP as Senior Manager, Professional Development. Before joining OUP, Neda has taught communication skills and English courses for several years as a university lecturer in Dubai. She has an MA in Postcolonial Studies – literature and culture from Goldsmiths, University of London, a Cambridge Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGC-HE) from Middlesex University. Neda writes regularly for Dawn on topics in education and has recently authored a book on parenting.
Barira is a seasoned Trainer and a Lecturer having specialized in Business Communication and in English as a Foreign & Second Language. She has worked with renowned global leaders in education across the Gulf Region. She has extensive experience of training and coaching in the areas of Social Communication and Workplace Communication Skills.
Rabia Nafees Shah
Rabia Nafees Shah's first job was as a Teaching Assistant at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. At the University of Florida, she was selected as the only incoming graduate recipient of the Ruth McQuown Fellowship for one academic year. The fellowship is reserved for outstanding female students in the humanities, social sciences and interdisciplinary studies. She also received a Certificate for Academic Acheivement from the University of Florida where she taught several Writing courses and Literature courses while studying for her own degree in Post-colonial Studies.
Michael DeGruyther, known as Mr. Mike, started teaching English as a second language at the age of 28. Since then, he has taught in several countries, including Japan. Most recently, he was a lecturer at Emirates Aviation University in Dubai. Michael will discuss the challenges of communication in ESL classrooms.
