About the role
The incumbent will be responsible for securing adoptions from chain schools to generate revenue by maximizing sales opportunities within key accounts and achieving assigned annual regional and national sales targets. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to establish and maintain long-term business relationships with key accounts by understanding their requirements and collaborating closely with various business departments to strengthen those relationships.

The incumbent will need to liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to organize teachers' training workshops in schools, gather feedback on current and forthcoming titles, and facilitate the augmentation of sales volume within a specified time. Junior Editor - English - Karachi

About the role
This position is responsible for managing the timely production of high-quality English titles in accordance with set budgets. Individual will handle projects from the commissioning stage to sending off the printed books to authors; quality check of manuscripts; coordinate with authors and designers.

This primarily includes all activities associated with proofreading, and editing of content, in terms of plagiarism check, content accuracy, consistence of content, style, grammar, and quality. He/she will be liaising with designers to ensure design briefs, illustrations, layout/format of titles are according to relevant budget/space/time allocations. Individual will liaise with authors and others to determine progress and encourage timely submission of high-quality work.

About you
The successful candidate should possess:

  • A strong school education and relevant Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject; Master’s degree preferred (English Literature, Applied Linguistics, Journalism, CELTA)
  • At least 1 to 2 years’ experience in teaching primary or middle school (Prior experience in publishing – editing, proofreading, and content development will be an added advantage.
  • Impeccable English language with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office particularly Word and Excel
